Color Splashed, with some rain!

All week long we had a great forecast for our Color Splash Fun Run for Tuesday June 7th. Suddenly, a day before www.weather.com forecasts a warning regarding possible showers and scattered thunderstorms between the hours of 4 – 6 PM. It seemed like deja vu all over again from two years ago! It didn’t stop us…

Over 80 participants, from grades K through 12, participated and the weather proved sufficient for what we needed! Well, at least, until 5:30 PM. The goal of the Color Splash Run, was to promote physical activity and wellness. Our Bay Shore students certainly displayed much enthusiasm as they circled the high school, some twice around, with their white shirts splashed with many colors. This event had no winners or prizes, but runners were showered with colored powder at six stations along the run. It was awesome!

We would like to thank the members of the Bay Shore Wellness Alliance who dedicated their time and energy to make the Color Splash Run possible. Special thanks to Mr. Claude Kasman, Mr. Ted Nagengast, Mr. Adam Frimmer, Mr. Chuck Lewis (and all HS custodians), Mr. Michael Sutch, (and all security guards) and the Administration and Board of Education for Bay Shore Schools for their continued support of our mission statement.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the Color Splash Run. Don’t forget to post your pictures! #BSCOLORSPLASH on twitter, Facebook and instagram… or simply email them to us.

Sincerely,
Mariusz Borkowski and Kathleen Peterson
